Residents at studios180 have easy access to all of the restaurants, bars, and outdoor spaces that downtown Lexington has to offer. Here’s a list of some of our favorite parks and other spots to visit in the neighborhood when you want to get some fresh air.
Triangle Park
With plenty of seating, a large green space, and peaceful waterfalls, you’ll barely notice you’re in the heart of downtown when you stop by Triangle Park. On some Fridays during the summer months, visitors can watch a movie on an inflatable screen in the middle of the lawn. During the winter, the park is transformed into an ice skating rink. You can even make this spot your office for the day because it has complimentary WiFi.
Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park
There’s always something going on at this downtown plaza, from Thursday Night Live (April-October) to the Farmers Market (open year-round). There are also plenty of restaurants and bars surrounding the pavilion if you want to dine and drink alfresco.
Gratz Park
This charming park is a downtown oasis nestled between Transylvania University and the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning. It’s quiet and well-shaded thanks to plenty of tall trees. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a summer picnic, dive into a new book, or throw a frisbee with friends. The best part? It’s only a 10-minute walk from studios180.
Legacy Trail
Want to move your workout from the fitness center to the great outdoors? You can run, walk, or bike this 12-mile paved trail that connects downtown Lexington with neighborhoods, parks, and historic sites on a course to the Kentucky Horse Park.
Phoenix Park
Located just five minutes from studios180, this mini-park is adjacent to the Lexington Central Library. It has fountains, a small dog lot, and plenty of bench seating. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, so you can pick up a coffee from the Starbucks across the street, grab a bite to eat at Corto Lima, or celebrate the weekend with a drink from Molly Brooke’s Irish Bar after visiting the park.
